Dearest Birth Parent,

We are so very honored that you are considering us to be your child’s adoptive family. You are truly a strong, loving and caring person to consider adoption. We wish you and your child nothing but the best on this journey.

Our current family consists of ourselves, Greg and Angela, and our spoiled rotten dog Rizo, whom we love dearly. We rescued her from a shelter a few years ago and found out very quickly that her favorite thing to do is snuggle in our laps, even though she is a little big to be a lap dog. We are both from Colorado and plan to stay here, close to our immediate families and because we just love it, especially the fall when all the leaves are turning colors. We enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors including playing volleyball all summer long, which is how we met. We dated for about 5 years before getting married in 2011 with all of our friends and family. We got pregnant on our honeymoon and were so very excited as we wanted to start a family as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we had a miscarriage early on and after numerous attempts have been told that we most likely will not be able to have biological children. After much thought and consideration, we felt that adoption would be a wonderful and exciting way for us to have a family.

Adoption has always been a part of Angela’s life. Her parents were foster parents to numerous children while she was young and when Angela was 4 her parents adopted a 6 month old baby girl!! Angela’s sister lives nearby and has three wonderful children. Adoption is new to Greg and his family, however, they are thrilled that we have undertaken this new journey into parenthood and can’t wait to be grandparents and aunts and uncles. Our extended family and friends, some of whom are adopted or have adopted themselves, are also just so very excited for us.

We have a wonderful 3-bedroom home in Denver with a very large backyard and we just happen to be near a great park and school! We can’t wait for Rizo to be able to share the backyard with someone! She loves playing in the yard with our nieces and nephews and kids of all ages. For school, we have a great private school nearby that we would plan on sending the little one to. We both work, however, we are lucky enough to be able to work from home when we choose. We love to travel and are excited to take a new son or daughter on family vacations.

Greg grew up in Denver. He is the Chief Operating Officer of a medical education/device company as well as a web designer. He is great with computers and electronics and loves cooking, volleyball, woodworking, skiing, hiking and of course watching football (especially the Broncos). He was born in 1979, and is of Scandinavian and German descent.

Angela grew up in Colorado Springs. She is currently a biotech patent agent at a law firm in Denver. She has a PhD in biochemistry. She was born in 1974, and is of Austrian and German descent.  She enjoys volleyball, hiking, baking, reading, ice-skating and playing the piano.

We are willing to have an open relationship with you if that is what you desire and we look forward to discussing it with you. Even though we both work, we are both able to take family leave and are both able to work from home one or two days a week. Both of us are home in the evenings and on weekends. We plan to co-parent so that both of us are involved as much as possible in the day-to-day care of the child.

Our journey into parenthood is one we are very much looking forward to and we thank you for considering us (and Rizo).
