More About Our Family
We met at a small Bible college in 2011--Isaac was a freshman and Alana was a first year graduate student. She is older by 5 3/4 years. We got married in December of 2014 in the middle of Isaac's senior year of college; 6 months later we moved to Illinois. We are personality opposites, but love to spend time together. Isaac is usually the goofy, lighthearted guy everyone loves. He keeps Alana smiling and seeing life's simple joys. She helps keep Isaac grounded and gives him direction. Alana is straightforward and likes structure. We coach and play soccer together. We both LOVE food. Parks and Recreation is our favorite television show. We work in the nursery and sing on the worship team at church. Before we got married and for the first few years of our marriage, we talked about wanting to have at least 4 children, but as many as 6--both biologically and through adoption. However, Alana has struggled with endometriosis and hormonal issues. Consequently, infertility has played a part in our story. We do not know if we are able to have biological children, but God has given us a huge desire to adopt as well. We would love to be able to provide siblings for any baby we are able to bring into our home. But one child and one day at a time, as the Lord allows.
More About Isaac
Isaac was raised in Minnesota playing sports and riding horses. He even knows how to swing dance. He is the youngest of 8 siblings--6 half and 1 whole sibling. Family is very important to him. He now teaches middle school and high school PE and 6th grade Bible. He also coaches both the varsity girls' and the boys' soccer teams. His dream job is to coach soccer on the college level--to use his skills to disciple the next generation. Isaac is kind, hardworking, patient, humble, and extremely loyal. Sometimes he doubts himself which makes him not want to branch out to try new experiences. Thankfully adoption has been an exciting adventure that he has thankfully jumped in on with both feet. He is so excited to be a dad.
