Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us.  We know that it is impossible to answer all of your questions in a few short paragraphs, but we hope that this little snapshot of our lives will give you an idea of who we are and the love we have to give.

Our story is unique from beginning to now.  Ronnie and I met in a small, rural town in Honduras, Central America.  Both of us were volunteering for a short while at a mission hospital on the coast.  Our friendship grew deeper and developed into a dating relationship.  Soon after, Ronnie joined the military and was stationed in Germany, making our long-distance relationship stretch a few more miles.  Later, after nearly three years of dating and what seems like a lifetime of adventures, we were married on New Year’s Eve in the chapel of Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

After retiring from the Army, Ronnie finished his bachelor’s degree and began working in human resources at a local hospital.  Kristyn is a Clinical Lab Scientist at the same hospital and works to maintain laboratory equipment and to train staff.

While where we have been and what we do is a part of who are, it is certainly not everything about us. Ronnie is an outgoing, athletic, and laid-back guy that loves to make people laugh.  He genuinely cares about people’s stories and works hard to ensure that everyone feels heard and included.  Kristyn is a selflessly caring and compassionate woman who loves to cook, bake, and entertain.  She has the gift of hospitality and loves to make people feel relaxed and at home.

Above all else, we hope that our love for Christ is our defining characteristic.  We were both raised in Christian homes with parents who love the Lord as well as each other.  We are actively involved in our local church as well as Sunday school classes and a small life group.  While we believe that a local Christian body is important for maturing in the faith, we feel with great conviction that a child's spiritual growth begins first in the home.  We strive to live as godly examples in our marriage and in our personal lives. Additionally, we desire to be intentional in our teaching of the scriptures, values, and morals within our home so that our children will grow to love God and understand his sacrifice for us.

Before we even began dating, we talked together about our desires to adopt.  At the time, we thought that it was a coincidence that we were both interested in adoption.  What we didn't know was that God was laying a foundation, not only for our relationship, but also for our future family.

We are humbled now to come before you as you selflessly seek the best for your child.  There is no doubt in our minds that you are on a journey that is both challenging and arduous.  We know that words often fail in times like this, but that God hears our heart’s cry. The strength of emotion and character that it takes to choose adoption in the midst of the craziness of life’s unforeseen circumstances deserves recognition.  We see your selflessness and are praying for you as you discern what is best for you and your child. It is our prayer that God will give you the strength, peace, and wisdom to choose what is best for you and your child.

Thanks again for your time.
