Hello, we are Dirk and Erin along with our four children, Adrie, Brooks, Carson, and Kase. We are grateful that you have taken a moment to look at our profile and hope it gives you a fair glimpse into our home and family. You might wonder why we've decided to adopt after already having four children. The answer is that this is something God has placed on our hearts for a long time and the opportunity to provide a child with a stable and loving home brings us great joy! We know that this is a big decision and extraordinary sacrifice that you are making and we want you to know that you are in our prayers. We are grateful that you have chosen life for your child and admire you for your courage. If you would choose our family rest assured that we will show you the same grace, mercy, and love that our Savior has shown us and we will love your child with all our hearts! Dirk and Erin

More About Dirk

I am so blessed to call this man my husband. I love doing life with him. He is my teammate and best friend. We are each others rock and cheerleader. We share a love of getting outside and getting moving. We love to explore, whether it's on vacation or on day trips right here in Michigan. Dirk is very present in our children's lives, which is something I deeply admire about him. He makes them breakfast before school and often gets them on the school bus. Soon after they return home a football, soccer ball, or baseball will be flying across the yard and he will be laughing and playing with the kids. He is always teaching them, praising them on their accomplishments, and most importantly praying for them. At night he will help our kids with their spelling words and bible memory. Dirk has been an encyclopedia of sports stats, an active deer hunter, and a year long angler since the day I met him. Dirk is a dedicated son, grandson, and brother. We each come from families filled with love and compassion for each other. Dirk is also a very gifted preacher and has been a pastor since 2013. I am so incredibly proud of the work he is doing! Besides that he is hard working, dedicated, loyal, and fun. For these qualities and more I praise God!

More About Erin

It is a joy for me to tell you about Erin. We’ve been married since ’07 and started dating in ’02 when we were still in high school. All that is to say I know her pretty well by now! Anyone who knows her will tell you that she is incredibly kind and compassionate; this can be seen in the smile that rarely leaves her face as well as in the gentle and encouraging way she speaks to others. One thing that I’ve appreciated is her willingness to befriend those who are lonely and in need of a friend. I’ve always been impressed by her work ethic and dependability. It does not matter what the task at hand is, whether it’s volunteering at church, doing work around the house, or helping the kids with their homework, she’s always all in, and if she says she’s going to do something, she does it! Another thing that I love about her is that she is easy going and fun. Her calm demeanor makes life in our house quite pleasant and enjoyable and it keeps stress to a minimum, but at the same time her propensity to have fun means we don’t sit around and do nothing too often! Sometimes she tells us to get on our bikes so we can for a bike ride, or grab the sleds so we can go sledding, or hook up the boat so we can to the lake, or any number of other fun activities! Finally, I wouldn’t do justice to who she is if I didn’t say that she was loving. She loves her children. She loves her husband. She loves her parents, and sisters, and in-laws, and nieces and nephews. Out of this love she prays for them. Encourages them. Forgives them. And fights for them. For this I am grateful.
