More About Our Family

Let us tell you the story of how we met. We went to a college football game with a big group of mutual friends, but it wasn’t until six months later that our paths crossed again and Jeff worked up the courage to ask Heidi out on a date. Sometimes second chances work out for the best! We dated over a year before getting engaged. Jeff came up with a fun proposal. While on vacation, Jeff created a scavenger hunt for Heidi. As she found clues, the hunt led to a lighthouse, where he proposed in the rain. We had a year-long engagement and were married in 2009. Even before talking about marriage, we talked about children and the idea of adoption. We both knew that adoption was something we wanted for our future family. When we had been married for 2 years, we met with a fertility specialist in the same week that we went to Bethany for their informational meeting. It was an emotional week, to say the least. But, our hearts were set on adoption. We were approved for our first adoption in 2012 and were matched with our son one year and 5 days later. When we were ready for a second child, there was no other option in our hearts, other than adoption. The same proves true for our third child - adoption is definitely the path we are meant to take and we couldn't be happier. We were blessed to be chosen as Tommy’s parents in 2013 and Wyatt's parents in 2017. Tommy is an active and friendly guy. He enjoys reading, playing any sport, singing, and playing with his cousins. Some of his favorite toys are Hot Wheels, trains, and legos. Wyatt is a friendly and sweet boy. He loves food, songs, and his family. Tommy and Wyatt have a very special bond. While we waited for Wyatt, we prayed with Tommy every night for God to bring us a baby when the time was right. He knew that when Wyatt came, God answered our prayers. He immediately called Wyatt his best friend. As time has passed, we know the feeling is mutual, as Tommy is possibly Wyatt's favorite human. As a family, we enjoy being outdoors and creating our own adventures. Our kids amaze us every day with how much they learn. We are often found playing at the park, swimming, dancing, chasing bubbles, and making crafts. We own a three bedroom colonial home. Our street has a lot of couples our age with children. Our community provides many activities for families to participate in. Within our city, we have parks with playgrounds, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and walking/jogging paths. We are close in proximity to schools. We are also very close to police, fire, and hospitals. We are encouraged to choose adoption because of our faith and the faith of those who are around us. We know this is the path that was meant for us and we know that we will someday be a family of 5, or more! As we wait to be matched with our third child, we only grow closer together. And for that, we are grateful to God. Thank you again for considering us as an adoptive family for your child. We cannot wait to meet the answer to our prayers. Jeff, Heidi, Tommy and Wyatt

About Jeff

More About Jeff

From the moment I met Jeff, I thought he was pretty shy. But as I got to know him, I found out all of his amazing qualities. He is the most caring man I have ever met. He puts other people’s needs before his own. He has always been generous, kind, and a hopeless romantic. Jeff is an incredible dad because he has a huge heart and is patient, gentle, and loves having fun. I am lucky to call him my husband and best friend. Jeff's immediate family consists of his mother and father (married 37 years), his older brother, his sister-in-law, nephew, niece and grandmother. He also has three aunts, three uncles, and seven cousins.

About Heidi

More About Heidi

Heidi is a kind, caring, compassionate, lovable person. She is fun to be around and very outgoing. She has the ability to light up any room with her friendly, gorgeous smile. She puts her family, friends, and God before anyone in her life. She is a wonderful mother who loves, nurtures, and cares for our son and I am sure they have a lot of fun along the way. Heidi's immediate family consists of her mother and father (married 38 years), her two younger brothers, her sister-in-law, nephew, niece, and three grandparents. She has six aunts, six uncles, and 22 cousins - several of which are married with children. We are also proud to be Godparents to an amazing little boy (Heidi's cousin's son). Jeff is Godfather to one of our nephews, and Heidi is Godmother to one of our nieces. Both sides of our family gather together for holidays, birthdays, and other occasions throughout the year. We love being so close to our family and are honored that we have their support through this adoption journey.
