Dear First Mother,
Tony and I want to thank you from the depths of our hearts for considering us for adoptive parents. We understand that this is a huge decision to make and we want you to know that you will always be a part of this baby’s life. We are here for you if you have any questions about the process or just want to learn more about us. We would love if you would consider an open adoption and also staying in your baby’s life in some form as well. We invite you to discuss a possible visitation schedule with us once the adoption process has begun.
We want you to know that we will care for this baby and look forward to incorporating life as a parent into our lives. We look forward to watching this child grow and develop into its own person. We already have a nursery ready and waiting for a child to enjoy. There are many children in the neighborhood of a close age to this child and we look forward to watching this baby form friendships with our neighbors. Our family is currently expanding as well this year. Tony’s little sister is expecting their first child in September 2016! We are excited to welcome this new niece or nephew into our lives and hope that this child we adopt will enjoy a close relationship with their cousin.
Family is very important to us as well as our faith in God. We hope, since you have chosen Bethany Christian Services, that you are open to a Christian home for your child. Tony and I regularly attend worship at a United Methodist Church in the area and are active members of the congregation. I, myself, volunteer monthly with the Director of Children and Family Ministries and she is very excited to invite a new little one into the church. Tony is an usher two months out of the year and enjoys playing in the bell choir with me as well. Our church family is very close to us and all at our church are ready to embrace this new child and teach them about God and all the wonderful things he has done for this world.
Plans for the future for our family include incorporating both you and your baby into our lives. As mentioned, we would love if you would consider an open adoption for your child. It is important to us that you be in this child’s life as much as you feel comfortable with. We felt that developmentally, this will benefit the child, and make the transition of finding out who they are. We would love to set up times to meet with us and the baby in public locations, as well as share photos and life events with you as the child grows. We hope that you will consider this as a possibility for your child.
Ultimately, we want you to know that your child will grow up in a happy and safe environment if you choose to adopt (even if it isn’t with us). If you are still confused as to what decisions to make, we encourage you to continue discussing your concerns with your pregnancy counselor. They can help you make the best decision for you and your baby. Just know that we are here as a potential resource as well. We would love to learn more about you and what you want in an adoption as well. We invite you to contact us through Bethany.
May God bless you and your family, and always be with you through this process.
Tony and Abby
Hello! We are Tony and Abigail and we would like to share a little bit about ourselves. We have been married for 9.5 years and just realized recently that we have known each other for almost 15 years. We currently live in the west suburbs of Minneapolis but the 10 year plan is to move back to rural Minnesota. One interesting fact about us is that we are rock hounds. We love the natural sciences and enjoy spending time learning more about geology, ornithology, and astronomy. One day, we hope to teach our child about these topics as well as have them accompany us on one of the many field trips we take to collect mineral specimens, check out nature, and learn about the wonders in Minnesota. Please see the photos below to see some trips we have gone on recently. We also invite you to look around our profile and contact us with any questions you may have.

Why We are Adopting: We have enjoyed being a couple for almost a decade and now we are ready to add to our family. After struggling with many issues, we have decided to expand our family through adoption. We have pictured welcoming our child through open adoption and taking both you and your child into our lives. We understand the bond that you will share with this child and do not want to be a factor in you missing out on your child's growth. We also understand the complex nature of what you have decided to do and thank you for considering us as a possible family for your child.
More About Tony
Husband: Tony and I have been married for over seven years. Tony enjoys doing things for me including driving me to work when the winter roads are bad, planning surprise daytrips during the summer and cooking my favorite, homemade pizza. Writer: Tony has always enjoyed reading science fiction and fantasy novels, and in the last year he has decided to start writing his own. He just finished the first draft of the first book and is in the editing stage. He has already begun the second book and has plans to try to publish his first book as soon as the beta-readers are through with it. Tony enjoys developing the plot line and becoming surprised by plot twists in his own writing. Astronomer: Tony has always been interesting in astronomy. Just about four years ago he finally broke down and bought a large 8” telescope that stands about 4 feet tall. The deck behind the house makes a good place to see many of the planets, nebulae and galaxies that are in the night sky. He is avid about seeing things in the sky, even when other people pick on him about going outside when it is below freezing in order to look at the stars. Rockhound: One of Tony’s newest hobbies is collecting minerals from the various places that he has visited. What started as a simple rock collection when Tony was in elementary schools has grown with various destinations. We now goes along on collection trips and we have personally mined Amethysts from Thunder Bay, Sapphires from Montana, Smoky Quartz from the White Mountains in New Hampshire and native copper from Michigan.
More About Abigail
Wife: We dated during high school, broke up and later got back together in college due to continuing contact between Abigail and my sister. Abigail did a great job of planning the wedding with me out of state finishing college and on Jan 3, 2009 we were married. Abigail shares several interests with me including hiking, visiting family and having campfires in the backyard. Musician: Abigail’s favorite hobby is music. She has played Oboe for over 20 years and the English Horn for over 15. She continues to play in a local community orchestra still. She also plays in our church’s bell choir. She even occasionally manages to draft me into joining her. Gardener: A favorite summer activity for Abigail is growing plants in her gardens. The front yard garden always has lots of flowers and last summer the backyard garden grew onions, raspberries and almost a gallon of popcorn. Whether it is weeding, planting, or occasionally declaring war on the local bunnies (which find her garden very tasty) Abigail is frequently outside during the warm months. Birder: Abigail enjoys watching birds. We have several feeders outside the house and usually bring a camera along when we go out hiking, just in case a bird happens to land nearby. About three years we got our second canary, Citrine. Citrine is now a part of the family too and Abigail enjoys caring for and pamper her. Needleworker: Cross-stitching and quilting are two more of Abigail’s interests. She has several cross-stitch pictures that are now decorating the house. We also have a huge and very soft quilt that she worked for some time on creating.
