Dear Birthparent,

My name is Vania and I would like to start by thanking you for taking the time to read my letter and go through my profile.  I am honored and humbled, by your courage, love, patience and understanding, during this challenging time in your life.  It cannot be easy, upon considering the best interests of your child, to then give that child up for adoption.  I will make sure that your child understands how much you love him/her and how selfless and thoughtful you were in making your decision.

I have always wanted to adopt and provide a safe, loving, Christian home for a child in need.  While I may be a single woman, I am not a one-woman team.  I have a very strong support system, of family and close friends.  My Mom is retired and as my child’s “Grandma,” she would be happy to help take care of her grandchild.  I also have three brothers, who are enthusiastically looking forward to being uncles to my child, as well as, my sister-in-law, who will affectionately be known as Auntie.

I have a strong faith and belief in God.  My Mother raised me as Christian, while my father was Catholic.  I believe I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.  In my heart, I feel that adopting a child is God’s will and plan for my life.  I often pray to be the kind of mother to my child that my Mother has been for me.  She is truly the best mother, I could ever ask for, and I am immeasurably blessed to have her in my life.

I was born and raised in New York City and my parents are from the Caribbean. I like to travel.  In the last couple of years, I have visited London, Paris and Jamaica. I am also what you would call a “foodie,” I love to bake all different kinds of desserts, while I am at home. Other hobbies of mine include, attending plays, on- and off- Broadway, especially Gospel plays, and watching movies.  I would welcome the opportunity to share my various hobbies and interests with my child.

I work full-time from my home, as a Nurse Case Manager.  I live in an apartment building, with a doorman and security.  In fact, I moved into a two-bedroom apartment, despite being single, because I wanted to raise a child someday.  I drive a sport utility vehicle, again, to accommodate my future child.  There is also a day care center, well within walking distance of my home, on the corner of my block.

I am a list person.  I write and keep lists all the time, for life goals, prayers, shopping, you name it and I have a list.  Adoption is a priority, on my prayer wish list.  I am truly grateful, for you giving me the opportunity to be a parent, the most precious gift from God.  I am very excited at the prospect of becoming a new parent.  This will be the most rewarding and happiest experience, and time of my life, to be a parent.  Praise God.
