Dear Expecting Mother/Parents, We firmly believe that God has a plan for each one of us, including you and your baby. We don't know your specific circumstances or situation but we understand that a difficult decision lies ahead of you. Please know that you are not alone and that we are praying for you; for each and every one of you that reads this book. We are praying that God will guide you to the adoptive family that is best for both you and your baby. We are praying that you would be surrounded by love and support throughout this journey and we are praying that we would have the privilege of being a part of that. We want you to know that we have not entered into this adoption lightly. Nearly five years ago, before we were even married, we both made the decision that we wanted to adopt at least one child into our family one day. We intended to have biological children as well but have struggled with infertility. Through lots of prayer, we came to the conclusion that God's plan is to grow our family through adoption right now. We believe that adoption is a beautiful picture of Christ's unconditional love for us and an opportunity for us to share that love with another. We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 We want you to know that we respect and admire your selflessness. We believe that adoption begins with the love that you have for your baby. We know you love him or her because you would not have chosen adoption otherwise. We want you to know that our hearts are already overflowing with love for the child that God is going to bring into our lives. We want you to know that we are forever grateful to you. We have shared our life and our hearts with you throughout this profile and we hope that it helps you get to know us a little better...

More About Our Family
We have been happily married for nearly 4 years! Fun fact: we were each other's only date from Match.com and joke that we should submit our story for one of their commercials! We live in a rural and friendly town where my family has lived for the past 21 years. Trey is a member of our local fire department and we are very connected throughout the community. We enjoy all of our neighbors, especially my parents! There are tons of kids as well as pets throughout our neighborhood and there is always someone walking or jogging by. We have two dogs who act more like humans than animals! Zeb is a 6 year old, roughly 80 pound lab and Angus is a 3 year old, roughly 50 pound lab/hound mix. We have had both of them since they were just puppies! Zeb’s favorite thing in the world is a tennis ball. My mom calls it his “pacifier”. Can you tell he’s just a little bit spoiled? Angus’ favorite activity is snuggling as close to you as possible. He often puts his front two paws up onto Katie which means he wants a “hug” and to be held like a baby in her arms. Both boys love playing outside, especially with our neighbor’s children, and in the summers they enjoy swimming at our local lake. The two of them adore children and are always so gentle and patient with them when they are around. Both of us were raised in North Carolina and our immediate families live locally so we enjoy spending time with them whenever we can. We tend to spend the most time with my parents and my Grammy who live next door to us though. We have family dinners together at their house at least once a week and they are always full of laughter! We also love to sit down and play cutthroat games of Scrabble occasionally! I was recently hired by my family to be a part time caretaker (aka personal assistant) for my Grammy about 30 hours per week. Rather than hire a home health nurse from an agency, we decided as a family that I would be the perfect person for the job! Trey has been so supportive because he knows that my dream has always been to be a stay at home mother and we are so blessed to be able to make that happen through this opportunity. Grammy is anxiously awaiting the addition of a sweet baby to our fun-filled days together! Since we both come from small families, we consider our friends to be our family as well. In most of my friend circles, their children refer to the rest of us as “aunties” and I love it. Our church family is also very important to us and we are excited to join their adoptive and foster family ministry in the near future! All of our families have been so supportive throughout this adoption journey so far and they are so excited to see what this next year holds for us! We all cannot wait to welcome a new addition into our lives with open arms! My parents are especially excited and have already decided that they want to be called "Mimi" and "Poppy"!
More About Trey
I prayed for my future husband for years and I can confidently say that God gave me exactly what I wanted and needed when He brought Trey into my life almost five years ago. Trey is my favorite. He is everything I am not and he compliments me perfectly. His patience, kindness, and gentleness with me and others are the traits I appreciate most about him. I can be a little difficult and emotional at times (as I’m sure most women can relate – haha) but he loves me despite my many flaws. Trey and I are not just spouses, we are partners. We make every decision together and support and encourage each other along the way. I am so proud of the hardworking man that he has become and I love bragging about his accomplishments to our friends and family. His passion for firefighting is inspiring and I love watching him further his career and lead others. Even though he is dedicated to his fire departments and the communities they serve, I know without a shadow of a doubt that our life together and growing our family is his first priority. He makes me feel safe and adored and I am certain I will fall even more in love with him as I see him care for our children with that same unconditional love and adoration.
More About Katie
Katie described in one word would be “amazing”. Katie is a wonderful and loving wife, who is full-hearted, caring, and generous. Her unconditional love for me and our growing family is humbling and endearing. She is everything I need and want. Our Christian faith is very important to us and Katie’s love for Jesus is one of the things that I love about her most. Katie’s love for children is also evident to me and anyone who knows her. She has been a pediatric nurse for several years and has the biggest heart for the children and families at her hospital. She treats them as her own which is how I’ve always known that she will make a great mother some day. I also love how Katie considers her friends as her family and they have welcomed me into that “family” with open arms. They are the best group of friends anyone could ask for. We love spending time with them and our own families but we also enjoy spending time with each other. Katie and I use the phrase “I love you to the moon and back” and whenever I say it I mean it with all my heart.
