Dear Birth Mom,

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter so that you can learn more about us!  Our names are Jeremy and Amanda and we want you to know that we are praying for you and your child during this pregnancy.  Adoption has been on our hearts since the early days of our marriage and we are excited that we are finally to this point where we will hopefully add another child to our family through adoption soon!  We want to reassure you that should you choose us to parent your child, he/she will be greatly loved and we promise to give him/her every opportunity to grow into a happy, healthy and successful adult.  Thank you again for considering our family for your child.

About Us

We were both raised in the same small town and have known each other since elementary school.  Can you believe that there was actually a 2 week time period in 5th grade that we were boyfriend/girlfriend?  Although we remained friends through both middle and high school, it would take 11 years before we would resume that relationship!  We went to different colleges and were separated for 4 years during that time, but “met for the second time” as we like to call it, our senior year.  Although we are similar in many ways, those 4 years apart made us rivals in one area - Jeremy graduated from NC State (degree in business management) and I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill (double major in Biology and Spanish).  Go Heels!

After college Jeremy went on to obtain his general contractor's license and works in residential construction part-time and I stayed in Chapel for an additional 7 years for medical school and residency. We were married during this time in 2006 and feel so blessed to have such a happy, supportive and loving marriage.  I don’t think I could have made it through those challenging years of training without Jeremy as my rock.  After residency we moved back to our home town and I currently work as a physician at a nearby hospital.  Since Jeremy works part-time and my work schedule is flexible we have been able to attend every school party, every field trip, and all baseball/T ball/ soccer games. Although our careers are important to us, our kids will always take priority!

We have three children (two boys and a girl) but have room in our hearts for more!  Our children are looking forward to meeting their new little brother or sister and they ask quite often when “the new baby,” is coming.  They will be the most loving and gentle playmates, siblings, and friends.

Family is extremely important to us and our children are very close to their grandparents, cousins, and even second cousins.  Both of our parents and Amanda's sister live within minutes of our home.  Our moms are retired from their prior jobs, but now they enjoy babysitting our children the days when we are both working (approximately 3 days per week).

As parents, our goal is to raise our children in a way that is similar to how we were raised - growing up surrounded by family and friends, playing outdoors, having farm animals as pets (chickens, horses, dogs), going to the beach, camping in the mountains, going to church weekly, and taking occasional trips to special destinations such as Disney World.

We know we would not be where we are in life without God's guidance and we continue to trust Him in all aspects of our life, including how and when to grow our family.  We know that He will lead and guide you as you make this difficult decision as well.  Should you choose us as the parents for your child we want you to know that your child will be raised in a loving, peaceful, fun, Christian home where he/she will be encouraged, comforted, and most importantly loved!  Thank you again for reading this letter.  We are praying for you!

With Love,

Amanda and Jeremy

More About Jeremy

Jeremy is the rock of our family. He is patient, steadfast, giving, selfless and very loving. He always puts his family before himself. He is very gifted with building design and the actual construction of a project. This makes him very handy to have around the house (especially since he built it!). He loves to play with our children, particularly when it's soccer in the front yard! He is faithful, an excellent provider, a loving dad and a great role model for our kids.

About Amanda

Profession:doctor
Education:Doctorate

More About Amanda

First thought that comes to mind is that Amanda is smart! She was the Valedictorian of our high school class and accomplished her dream of becoming a doctor. Although this is her career, our family is her priority. She arranges her schedule weeks in advance to be able to attend every field trip, baseball game, and school performance. She strives to make everyday fun for our children. She may describe me as the rock of our family, but she is the glue.
