Dear Expectant Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We are honored to be one of the options you can consider as you explore an open adoption. We cannot imagine how hard this decision must be for you, and we respect your courage and selflessness. We are praying that you will have wisdom, peace, and hope during this time.

Our Story

We met in kindergarten, growing up five miles apart near a small town in Southern Oregon. While we went through school together, we didn't start to date until we both attended the same university. After dating for almost two years, we got married in our hometown in August 2010, surrounded by our family and friends. A year later, we moved to the Willamette Valley and bought a house. Blake works as a mechanical engineer for a production company, while Stephanie is an accounting manager at a local university. We enjoy hiking with our labradoodle Harley and visiting the various parts of Oregon. We are looking forward to sharing our state's beauty with a child.

Our Family

Blake's two brothers and their families live in the same town as us, while Stephanie's parents and sister live about half an hour away. We are excited that Blake’s older brother, sister-in-law, and three children have recently moved across town to a few streets down from our house. We enjoy family BBQs and attending church together. This will be the first grandchild for Stephanie's parents, who are beyond excited. Blake's niece and nephews are looking forward to a cousin to play with. Blake's dad lives in our hometown and visits often. We also love to visit with our extended families living around Oregon, which include many young extended cousins.

Our Community

We've enjoyed home improvement projects around our three bedroom home, located in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood with a park and nature path. Our town has children activities, including a new YMCA close by. Stephanie enjoys volunteering in our church’s great kids program. We are so grateful for our support system of close friends and family nearby. They have shown us so much love and support as we embark on our parenting adventure.

Our Hope

We love Jesus and try to live each day for Him. After struggles with infertility and the loss of Blake's mom to ovarian cancer, we are even more secure that our hope rests in Him. Both of us were raised attending church. Our faith as grown and strengthened from our youth. We are connected in a local Evangelical church, helping build us as followers of Christ. Stephanie has started leading an evening Bible study, while Blake has been connected in the men’s group. As parents, we look forward to sharing this faith and parenting with grace and safe boundaries for growth.

Our Openness

We desire an ongoing relationship with the birth family and are open to what that might look like. We are so thankful to be a waiting family for an open adoption, knowing that our child will know their birth story as they grow up and have connections with their birth family, surrounded by love. As you face this difficult decision, we are praying for God's peace over you now.

Our Gratitude

As first time parents, we are excited to raise a child in a home full of love and Jesus, connected with a birthfamily, and working to create a better future. Thank you again for taking the time to look at our profile.

This verse has been a comfort to our family, and we wanted to share it with you in closing:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  – Philippians 4:6-7

With love,

Blake and Stephanie
