Greetings;

We want to start by thanking you for your selfless and brave decision to consider adoption. We understand you are putting the needs of your child ahead of your own. Choosing the right family to love and provide for your child is a difficult decision. After years of trying to conceive, we realized that adoption was a beautiful way to build our family. In 2014, we adopted our first son Jase. We are excited for him to have a sibling and expand our family through adoption again. Adoption is a true blessing from God. We are forever grateful. We will never be able to fully thank you for the amazing gift we will receive. We understand the tremendous sacrifice that you have in creating an adoption plan for your child. We would be honored to be a part of your plan.

We are John, Gretchen & Jase, a fun-loving family who likes to spend time with family and make memories that last a lifetime.

Our Relationship

We met 10 years ago at the school John worked at. We also got engaged there too. John involved his students in the engagement. He had them hold up signs that said “Will you marry me?” We have been married for 8 years and can’t imagine life without each other. Before we adopted Jase, we went through a private adoption that did not work out. It made our relationship stronger with each other and also with God. We’ve learned that we can handle the good times and bad as long as we do it together. We will work hard as a team to provide an environment of unconditional love, support, laughter and stability for our family. Being a parent is very important to us and we can’t wait to expand our family again through adoption.

Our Home

We live in a small, rural town. There are a lot of children that live in our plan. The school is a mile down the road. We have a four bedroom home with a nice size yard and a garage. There are two floors. We have a nursery with a crib, our bedroom, Jase's room, and a playroom.  Everything is on one floor. The basement is partial finished. We have two dogs, Bubba and Marvin. They enjoy being around our son and other children. They get excited when our nieces and nephews come to visit. We spend a lot of time with family. We are very fortunate to have them living close to us. We have 5 nephews and 4 nieces. The kids are excited and can’t wait for another cousin.

Our Job, Hobbies, Interests and Activities

John is a second grade teacher. Teaching has been his passion for many years. He enjoys helping the students and cares for them greatly. He also teaches the Royal Rangers program at our church. This is an activities based ministry for boys. John enjoys anything outdoors. He loves to fish with his father and nephews. We take several trips to his family’s camp, where we enjoy relaxation, family time and making smores and mountain pies. John is a sports guy. He is a Pittsburgh fan of all teams, but his all time favorite team is the Miami Hurricanes. John is an excellent cook and loves trying new foods. Most importantly, he loves being Jase’s dad and teaching him new things.

Gretchen works at a bank. She has a Health and Physical Education degree and was a substitute for many years. She has had experience working with children through her job as a TSS, cheer and gymnastic coach and a Toddler 1 teacher. She enjoys scrap booking, crafts, the beach and hanging with family and friends. She loves bright colors, especially orange. She is great at decorating the house and picked out the décor for the nursery. Gretchen is an animal lover. She helps her mother and sister find homes for animals in shelters. Gretchen currently has one day a week off, which she enjoys spending with Jase. Gretchen has a big heart and is full of love to give a child.

Jase is three years old. He enjoys the outdoors, swimming, sports and the zoo. He started walking at 9 months and has been on the go ever since. He loves animals, especially Polar Bears, quads, tractors, and bulldozers. Jase receives love and support from all our family and friends. He loves playing with other kids. He gets excited when our nieces and nephews come over. Jase can’t wait to share his home and toys with another child.

Together we love attending all of our nieces and nephews sporting events. Between midget/high school football, gymnastics, cheerleading, wrestling, dance and basketball, there is always something to do. We take vacations every year to Myrtle Beach, SC. Jase took his first steps while we were there! It was a memorable moment that we will never forget. We are family-oriented and love spending time with everyone. Our families live close together. We see them at church, family gatherings, Pitt and Pirate games, birthday parties, holidays, etc. They are always there when we need them and are grateful for all their support.

Our Dreams for a Child

We have many goals and dreams for our future children. The number one dream would be teaching them about God. He is at the center of our life and relationship. We want our children to know His Grace and His Power. Our faith is continually growing as we prepare our hearts and our home for another child. We will provide love and support through all the years of their life. We will encourage them to pursue their own dreams and provide necessary support. We have the financial stability to provide them with opportunities in activities and sports. We are excited to share our values and the lessons we have learned with our children. Some of those values include the importance of a good education, working hard for what you have, learning to appreciate the simple things in life and treating others with kindness and respect.

We are grateful for your time in considering us. We would love to meet you and explore this relationship further. Please know that you are in our prayers during this difficult time. We wish you well and hope that you find peace and confidence in the choice that you make for your child.

Sincerely,

John, Gretchen, and Jase
