Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us as you consider adoption. I can’t imagine the emotion it takes to work towards this decision, and I hope you find comfort in whatever final decisions you make. Please know that we are fully committed to raising our adopted child with the absolute most gentle and loving care. We look forward to learning more about you, and your hopes for the future, as well.

Our Story ~ I have known that I would adopt ever since I was young, and this decision was cemented when I worked with adoptive parents in Europe. My family is very close, and our friends are like family. My brother and his family live only a mile away. We live in a beautiful home in the suburbs and have excellent neighbors. Our faith is of the utmost importance to us, and we love being a part of our church community. We enjoy nature, riding our bicycles, hiking in the mountains, soccer, trying new foods, traveling, and especially spending time at the ocean. In our spare time we love to read and learn new things.

About Me (Jean) and Giselle ~ My favorite job in the world is being a mother. I am originally from New York, and received my BA from a college in Massachusetts. I also have one Master’s degree in international politics and one in teaching. After college I served two years in the Jesuit Volunteer Corp, where I ran programs for children. I then moved to Russia to run a center for children with special needs. Upon returning to the U.S. I worked in the non-profit sector managing projects for children in the developing world. I have been teaching for the past 11 years. I believe God has blessed me with these rich, diverse experiences working with children so I could bring this knowledge, and compassion, to raising our adopted child. My daughter Giselle is nine and in the gifted and talented program at school. She loves learning and since a very young age has done dance, gymnastics, played the piano and soccer. Giselle is a very compassionate child and is so excited to someday read to, play with, and help take care of, her new sibling.

When I was a child my mother wore a necklace with a little mustard seed to symbolize Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed…Nothing will be impossible for you." I think upon this necklace and know that my faith has led me here, and we are hopeful that someday our families might be connected forever.

 With love and respect,

Jean and Giselle
