Dear Birth-parents, This book has been for you to see a little bit of who we are. It seems strange to just write a letter not knowing your story. You are on one side of the table and we're at the other side of the same table. While going through some of our adoption training one explanation of having a healthy relationship with birth families has stuck with us over the years. It's like when someone marries, they have an instant extended family with their new spouse's family. Because you are important to your child, you are important to us. I didn't mention Oliver's birth family because they chose to have a closed adoption. They decided that was best for Oliver and for them. Every adoption story is one of a kind. There is always love and loss in adoption. We have prayed for our future children for years. We know God has a plan for our family and we trust Him to grow it as He sees fit. We would love to have an open adoption if that is something you are interested in. This could mean dinner dates, letters, phone calls. We will cross that bridge when we get there. We would love to have you be a part of your child's life as well as our lives if you decide we are the right family. Thanks for getting to know us! With Love, Chelsea, Jason, and Oliver

More About Jason
My husband is the most incredible person in my life. His strength, love, and balance have always drawn me closer to him. I've experienced unconditional love like I never thought I could from another human. Some days just knowing he loves me has carried me through many difficulties. The world could be falling apart and he knows there's a solution to whatever it is we are facing and that we will survive it. Watching him become a father has been such an honor. I've been able to see his patience and kindness for our son impact my heart in a way that makes me want to be a better person. Oliver loves his daddy. They are the best of friends. Wherever daddy goes, Oliver has to go. If Jason sets his mind to something, that is what he is going to do. He is extremely goal oriented and competitive. Jason has such a thirst for adventure. There are new places to go, people to meet, and a big world to see. He is very athletic and loves all sports. His favorite would be boating and wake surfing.
More About Chelsea
Chelsea is compassionate, artistic, loving, caring, spunky, funny, kind and family oriented. Her favorite thing is to be around family and friends. She is my best friend, my life partner, and my closest confidante. She always tries to find some way to connect with every one she meets. I've seen her grow as a person as she has become a mom and am excited to see her and our son and other future children grow in life and love for one another.
