Pets: Sampson and Stella are fun, loving, well-behaved dogs! Sampson was 8 weeks old when we brought him home and is now 6 years old. He is a Dachshund, Pug, Chihuahua mix and thinks he's the boss! He loves being around people, is great with kids, and wraps himself up in blankets to nap. Stella loves belly rubs! She was about 1 year when we adopted her from a local rescue and is now 4 years old. She is a Catahoula mix and is such a sweet girl. She loves going for walks, especially in the Kettle Moraine, and is so well-behaved and patient with children. Both Sampson and Stella love being around our nieces and nephews. Our pups realize the kids are smaller and are always careful, patient, loving, and playful with them. They are going to be perfect dog siblings and guardians to our future child!

More About Our Family

We met 13 years ago while we both happened to be at the same venue with mutual friends. As it turns out, we did know of each other, but finally had the opportunity to meet...and it's history from there! We dated for 3 years, 1 1/2 years being engaged, and were married on June 27, 2009. Since then, we adopted Sampson and Stella, lived in Milwaukee and now Pewaukee, and love living life together. Our Catholic faith is important to us, and we value the importance of God in our lives especially during the difficult times. Late January, 2015, we learned we were going to be parents and were absolutely thrilled. About half-way through our pregnancy, JoAnna became very sick and lost our baby boy. Due to the circumstances, our doctors advised against future pregnancies. We then realized our opportunity to become parents meant adoption! We support and love one another through all of life's ups and downs, are now at peace, and are excited and ready to grow our family through adoption! Jonathan's family loves spending time together and most of his family live in Milwaukee. The Belotts are caring, enjoy a good laugh, and are always willing to lend a hand. Jonathan has two older brothers who are both married. Sky is a Battalion Chief on the Milwaukee Fire Department and is married to Cheryl who is a teacher. They have two children, Jacob and Andrew. His other brother Brandon is a manager, while his wife Becky is an administrative assistant. Jonathan's Dad lives up north with his fiance Deb and their pup Fir. We enjoy taking Sampson and Stella up to visit. His mom is no longer with us, but her memory remains strong. Jonathan's family enjoys getting together for Packer's games, celebrating holidays, going to Brewer's games, and taking vacations together. The Belott family is very supportive and excited for us and cannot wait to meet the newest family member! JoAnna's family loves being together. JoAnna also has two older brothers. Jason is a civil engineer and is married to Joelle who is a social worker. They have two children Makenzie and Owen. Jon is a journeyman carpenter and is married to Lis, who is a teacher. They have two kids Raegen and Kendyl. Jonathan and JoAnna enjoy taking the kids on day trips, such as to the Shedd Aquarium, and enjoy watching them play in their sporting events. JoAnna's parents, Bob and Ann, are both retired. Bob was an operating engineer while Ann taught music. They also own and operate a Christmas tree farm. JoAnna's family all live in the East Troy area and often get together to visit. JoAnna's family is extremely supportive of us pursuing adoption and cannot wait to have another addition to the family!

About Jonathan

More About Jonathan

Jonathan is a genuine, loving, intelligent, and funny man who is always willing to lend a hand. He grew up on the east side of Milwaukee and has a soft spot in his heart for the city. He completed his bachelor's degree in music education with a minor in business, and always has time to talk shop about drum corps, especially the Madison Scouts. The dedication, hard work, and teamwork of drum and bugle corps helped mold Jonathan into the man he is today. He marched with the Racine Scouts, Madison Scouts, and in his adult life, the Kilties. While he attained his collegiate goal, he always dreamed of being a Milwaukee Firefighter. In 2011 that dream became a reality and he is now a Paramedic Firefighter and Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) for the Milwaukee Fire Department. He will soon be promoted to Paramedic Lieutenant and has aspirations to continue moving up in rank. In Jonathan's spare time, he enjoys playing in his tuba quartet, taking the pups to the dog park, camping, traveling, being a Mr. Fix-it, spending time with family, and attending any kind of sporting event. He and a close friend have been regularly attending UW-Madison football games for the past 15 years! Jonathan is also a terrific cook! He enjoys trying new techniques, kitchen tools, and recipes while improving upon older recipes. Jonathan is excited to become a father and love and cherish a child who he can raise as his own. His calm, loving, and God-fearing demeanor is the perfect combination to make endless memories with our soon to be child.

About JoAnna

More About JoAnna

JoAnna is a heart-felt, caring, loyal, and giving person who loves to help others. She was raised in the country on a Christmas tree farm and is ecstatic she and Jonathan moved out of the big city and now own a little bit of land. JoAnna earned her undergraduate degrees in music education and oboe performance and went on to complete her master's degree in oboe performance. She taught music for a couple years, enjoyed her work, but due to budget cuts, lack of jobs, and severe vocal strain, was supported by Jonathan to return to school to obtain a registered nurse degree in 2012. JoAnna now works as a critical care registered nurse in the Coronary ICU at St. Luke's hospital in Milwaukee and has a deep passion for helping others. Her comforting bedside manner has guided many patients and their loved ones through a difficult time in their lives. She is thinking about returning to school for an advanced nursing degree but has not quite decided yet on what path to pursue. In JoAnna's spare time, she enjoys taking Sampson and Stella for walks, spending time with family and friends, taking hikes in the Kettle Moraine, downhill skiing, fishing, reading, camping, traveling, and doing any kind of craft. JoAnna is thrilled she and Jonathan are going through the adoption process and cannot wait to welcome a child into their loving family and warm home. While she and Jonathan have experienced grief and are reminded of it now and then, she knows that God is guiding their path and has the perfect plan laid out for them.
